Absolute Vs Positional Ethics

These are two types that I always had an internal battle finding it hard to define. One is positional ethics which flip flopped based on the side I happened to be and other was absolute. Absolute never changed with the time to time. I feel strong about defining and living on them as my essence of life.

If personal fulfillment is the goal in life, ethics may appear to be unnecessary. However, we reap tomorrow what we sow today. So we better pay attention to the seeds we plant.

Ethics are always positional. Because they are conclusions based upon your assumptions about the world, they can give the illusion of being absolute if you believe your assumptions absolute.

But all assumptions are formulated through a pinhole my friend, and when you get a glance at the bigger picture often your assumptions can fall like a house of cards, leaving you to reformulate your ethics. Thus anyone's ethics can be compromised by a lie big enough to change their perception of reality...
